Just around the corner…
For those of you who haven’t been married before, let me say this: there are a *lot* of deadlines. Booking the venue, confirming total number of guests, putting together a list of songs to be played – these are all must-haves for a fantastic wedding*. For the past few months, we’ve been blessed with a number of signs of our impending doom marriage. When you have an October wedding, the second the pumpkins start appearing and the candy goes on sale, you know it’s time to panic make sure that all of the preparations are in place. But that’s not the only sign.
*Keep in mind – just because we’ve hit these deadlines in no way predicts that our wedding will be fantastic. Just that you’ll be sheltered, fed and entertained.**
**We hope.
So what are some of the other signs? Well, for starters, Jaremy looked at his iTunes playlist and realized that he now has roughly 19 days of music. That means that if he hits play on A-ha’s “Take On Me” right now, we won’t even make it to the Oberlin Obertones’ rendition of “Any Way You Want It” by the ceremony. Nope, Jim Reynolds will not have unleashed his beat-boxing skills with the Obertones on my stereo, and if we’re lucky, we might be just past Moby’s “South Side”.

None of this was more telling, however, than going to the grocery store today and picking up a half-gallon of our milk of choice: Lucerne 1%. Imagine the surprise on Jaremy’s face when he saw hidden behind the October 16′s and October 20′s, a stealthily-placed carton of October 23. Ladies and gentlemen, it’s official. The wedding is coming, whether we are prepared or not.
It’ll please you all to know that we do have the venue, a great group of Oberlin students playing music, and our good friend Caleb Tkach taking photos of the event. And most importantly, we have each other, and we hope to have all of you there!* Looking forward to a wonderful day, and excited to see you!
*If you have been invited and have not RSVP’d, this is your last warning – we’ll be dispatching an assassin your way giving you a call soon.
